BAXJECT II Hi-Flow
How BAXJECT II Hi-Flow Works
The convenience of the BAXJECT II Hi-Flow design is that the transfer spikes do all the work.
- The first spike pierces the protective seal on the sterile water vial as the device is attached.
- As the vial containing the FEIBA power is pierced by the second spike a vacuum is created which draws in the sterile water to begin the reconstitution process.
- Once mixed, the solution is then ready to withdraw into the syringe for infusion.
Handy tips for using the BAXJECT II Hi-Flow device
- Remember, reconstitution and administration of FEIBA therapy should take place under clean and germ-free conditions.
- You should follow the procedures recommended to you by your haemophilia centre.
- Make sure you place the sterile water and powder vials on a flat surface when attaching the device.
- Always connect the sterile water vial first.
- When you are ready to withdraw the solution for infusion the purple side of the device will be on the top with the ‘Baxter’ name the right way up.
If you have any other queries regarding the BAXJECT II Hi-Flow needleless device and how it can make your FEIBA preparation faster, safer and simpler, please contact your haemophilia centre.
