FEIBA - The Basics
What is FEIBA?
FEIBA (Factor VIII Inhibitor Bypassing Activity) is derived from pooled human plasma and promotes blood clotting in haemophilia A patients with inhibitors. FEIBA is used when replacement clotting factor VIII is not effective.
How does it work?
FEIBA bypasses the inhibitor that neutralises the clotting factor VIII replacement therapy. It contains a mix of clotting factors that enables the blood to form a stable clot.
