Here are some examples of an 80g portion of fruit and vegetables:


1 apple, pear, banana or orange (medium sized fruit)
1 slice of melon (5cm slice) or large slice of pineapple (large sized fruit)
2 plums, satsumas or kiwi fruit (small sized fruit)
1 heaped tablespoon of raisins (dried fruit)
2 pear or peach halves (tinned fruit in natural juice)
150ml glass of unsweetened 100% fruit juice (juice)*


3 heaped tablespoons of fresh, canned, frozen vegetables e.g. carrots, peas or sweetcorn (vegetables)
5cm of cucumber or seven cherry tomatoes (salad)


Beans and pulses:
3 heaped tablespoons of baked beans or red kidney beans (beans and pulses) *

*However much of these items you eat/drink it can only count as a maximum of 1 portion per day
