Managing Pain

Comprehensive Care Centres have access to haemophilia specialist physiotherapy services as part of routine care, however they can also have a role in managing pain, stiffness and mobility problems. You can ask to be referred to a specially trained haemophilia physiotherapist who can design a programme specifically for your needs. They may suggest several pain relief strategies such as exercise, hydrotherapy, relaxation techniques, using a walking aid, sprints or braces, and/or transcutaneous electrical nerve simulation (TENS).
