Charlene, 32, lives in a small village near Worksop, Nottinghamshire, with husband, Carl, her three children Dale, Bethany and Shannon, and her stepson Bradley.
Dale, 15, has severe haemophilia A which is managed by prophylaxis every other day and on demand. He enjoys a normal teenage lifestyle, going out with friends and playing and competing in many different sports, especially football and basketball.
Following a long-held ambition, and inspired by the clinical skills she has learnt through caring for Dale, Charlene has just started a three year course in adult nursing at Sheffield Hallam University. In her spare time she enjoys days out with her family, socialising with friends and going to the gym.
